Archiving In Time Of Genocide

July 8, 2026

In a webinar hosted by the Institute for Palestine Studies, journalist Laura Albast, archivist Adel Bseiso, and researcher Caitlin Procter join moderator Maria Khoury and editor Sherene Seikaly to discuss why preserving Palestinian memory has taken on new urgency.

The panel covers work ranging from transcribing testimonies sent by text and voice message out of Gaza, to building family archives of old photographs and documents that preserve personal history while also serving as evidence of Palestinian presence and claims to the land. Their discussion makes the case that this documentation work is itself a form of resistance, a deliberate effort to keep Palestinian lives and memories from being erased.
